Western Oregon University Annual Report 2006-2007

This report has many good points, but also can use some improvements.

Improvements:
1. First page is titled "THE OFFICE OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AND SCHOLARS," but doesn't state the college it is based out of. In searching for the name of the college, on page two I am given a hint of 'WOU.' This abbreviation of WOU occurs throughout but is not explained. I typed in the main URL as wou.edu, to realize this report is through Western Oregon University.

2. On page 2 where the China trip was highlighted, it mentioned meeting with the president and provost, but it doesn't specify which college this occurred at.

Highlights:
1. On page 2 I like that some trips abroad to China were highlighted.

2. Justified the need for the "Administrative Program Assistant" and "International Student Advisor," detailing the roles expanding scope and importance to the functioning of the office.

3. Details the organizing of trips and events for international students on campus and in the community.

4. Retention discussions on page 4.

5. Recognition in local, national and international media.

6. The last page details a few areas of growth or problems needed to be rectified to increase retention.
