According to an article in the Hindu Newspaper called B-Schools Accepting GRE Scores Too, it is stated that some U.S. MBA programs may allow students to submit GRE scores instead of GMAT scores.
If this is true, one consequence is a savings for students as GRE is not as expensive a test.
The second consequence is unclear to me. I have taken the GRE, but I have not looked at GMAT, so do not understand the need for GMAT in MBA admissions. If GRE is an option, and students from economically disadvantaged or economically savvy backgrounds are admitted on GRE and not GMAT, what would that mean for GMAT takers admitted in the same program?
My doubts:
The academic integrity of GMAT in comparison to GRE when it comes to MBA studies.
If GRE becomes the preferred test for MBA students in colleges that accept it, would GMAT occasionally be phased out?
Would GRE scores be preferred for only certain streams of MBA studies (ie. Information technology versus Finance)?
If anyone has any thoughts on this, please share below.

well you can discuss this with others who have been through the process and with experts.
YOu need to research a lot before you decide on your university and aid.
there are places on the net where you get lots of info about an MBA in the US and Aid and everything else.
Thank you. Your absolutely right about researching the college and aid. Thanks for the resource offered.
An MBA program will launch you into the much higher pay range that upper level managers and executives enjoy.
Furthermore, in the high-level positions an MBA degree will allow you to hold, your work will often be more interesting and rewarding.
